Big Guavas Baseball Club

An offshoot of the Carolina Sandlot Collective, the Big Guavas Baseball Club was started in the winter of 2023 down in Tampa Bay. With a name inspired by the city’s playful nickname, the identity digs into the rich history of the city’s cigar manufacturing with a custom, hand-rolled logotype, paired with old school baseball type and modern, cheerful colors of the guava fruit.

To solidify the sandlot mentality of “All are welcome,” the Big Guavas identity includes Guavy, a big, welcoming, goofy guava drinking a beer and holding a bat. With the team’s founder having roots in Philadelphia, Guavy is a nod to the Phillie Phanatic.
